Just got this email from Porsche.

"We are currently working on re-manufacturing the part and have just finished the necessary fitting/testing in our workshop. The manufacturer has received the contract this week and should be able to supply the first parts in March."

That IS great news! I wonder how many will be produced? I don't need one, but may grab one for a spare, IF the price isn't incredibly high (which it probably will be)

Someone suggested they would sell for $1500. Dealer list was $232 back in '01 and current price is $258. Will be interesting to see pricing once they do become available.

I wonder... can you order one of these today at the current price and let the order go backorder and wait for the repros?

That is an interesting idea. I assume you would have to go to A Porsche dealer. Is that right? Seriously doubt the price will be less.

Would be nice if you could "lock in" the price by ordering one now. :) The "current list" is from our in house system which updates monthly from mfgs supplied pricing. If a part is NLA it generally lists at the last selling price because there has been no update. Most places update pricing with every invoice to avoid getting burned. I plan on looking into this next week when I'm back at work.

"Dear Mr Holladay,

here is the promised update on the 914-6 Windshield Seal.

The parts will be available by beginning of April.

Kind Regards"

No price given.
