I'm bumping up against an issue with ordering some Goodyear Bluestreaks for my GT car and I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with them on a factory steel flared car with stock 8x15's in the rear.
My current set up from the hub out is as follows:
* 5mm under-rotor spacer for the GT calipers on a 911 rotor.
* Stock 20mm rotor
* Stock 8x15
* BFG 215/60/15 (these just came with the wheels but, with a 9.5" section width, they are very close to the flares.)
Of Note:
There is no engine or tranny in the car.
I was looking a 6.00 x 15 for the rear and 5.50 x 15 for the front. The only problem I'm seeing is, the 6.00 x 15 is showing a 10.5" section width on an 8" wheel and it "really" doesn't look like my factory flares will accept this UNLESS I'll get some significant camber out of the arms when the engine and tranny are in.
I spoke to Bruce Canepa today and he was kind enough to run out to the Luftwaffe (Lufthansa) car to report back that it is sitting on 6.00 x 15's all the way around! Stock rims and stock flares.
In speaking with Jeff today I was almost ready to pull the trigger on four of the 5.50 x 15's with the 9.3" section width when I heard this.
I'm sending my wheels off to Harvey and I wanted to have rubber waiting for them when they returned.
Has anyone ever run Bluestreaks on a GT body with stock wheels? :confused:

Harvey has been modifying Panasports or Superlite's lately to go on the rear. I have seen them sitting in his rack but didn't ask beyond the question why he had newish wheels. You might ask him. That dude is an encyclopedia of Porsche knowledge. He will probably know a bit about what will fit.

By the way, there is a set of 4 15X8 Fuchs for sale on the San Diego Craigslist under Autoparts and Porsche... $500? Seems like a pretty good price.

Next Question... do you like Post #6 or Post #7
(I'm leaning toward #6)

I like post #9. Not enough front wheel/tire in #7. #6 is cool...

I meant to say 7 or 9.
The 5.50's I'm looking at are the G-12 and they're 25.5"
Now I'm leaning toward all 25.5's For some reaon I don't like the "rake" on a 914. On a 911 it's another story but, looks odd on a 914.
No?
have em send 1 of each and test fit :cool:

I have 11.25" from the stiffening plate to the inside of the flare...

You two have me worried now... I have the AA flares. I had Harvey build me a set of 8.5 wheels out of four 16X6 Fuchs and finish them in RSR finish. Now you have me wondering if I can fit them under the car!
And don't tell me to send them to you Salmon Boy... :(

Whats the ETA ???
I love Harvey and I believe he is the absolute best. His brother Al is a good friend of mine. But you need a calendar, not a watch if you are trying to figure an ETA...:) He does great work and great work takes time.

I'm the hold up right now. I have to get the wheels off, tires off and then boxes for the wheels. I think I can do it all at the same place. Just hate to get it off the wheels and tires... jack stand phobia you could call it. ;)
well mount 2 up let see the fit :confused:

Oh Jeff... I would back off. You don't want to mess with Eric when he is bitchy. You wouldn't like him when he is bitchy. ;)
