Hey all,

I'm having a hard time figuring out what part number to look for here. Should be pretty obvious from the pic (link at bottom of post), I need the small protective cover that goes on the underside of the tranny, just to the right (passenger side) of the shift rod coupler. I believe it is part 914.424.206.00 (http://www.autoatlanta.org/action.lasso?-database=AADatabase&-username=%27public%27&-password=%27public%27&-layout=items&-response=results.lasso&-operator=eq&partnumber2=914%20424%20206%2000&-maxrecords=10&-search), can someone please confirm?

This is for a '71 /6.

Thanks,

Reid

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. :D I think you were trying to link to the same part I did in my post...?

The above link isn't for the metal plate on the bottom, it's for the plastic cover over the end of the shift linkage.

For the metal plate, you want part number 914.301.131.00 ; the gasket for it is 914.301.391.00 .

Thanks Dave ~ btw I can't find a part with number "914.301.131.00", I'm thinking you meant "914.301.313.00" after looking at some pics. What's funny is I didn't realize I needed that part. I guess I need that AND the plastic protective cover.

The original part I posted about is 914.424.206.00 I think. Looks like I may be out of luck there.

Thanks guys

According to PET the 914/6 protective plate is 914.424.206.00 (L) the 4 is 914.424.229.00 (R) I do not think they are interchangeable.

If it the passenger side then I am confused, Reid do you have a RHD car :p

Awesome pics Glenn, where do you get this stuff?!

Ummmm....yeah. "Driver's side", sorry. :D Why were there no factory RHD 914s anyway? (he says as he attempts to cloud his compatriots' memories of said oversight)...

The RHD cars were conversions by Crayford (http://www.356-911.com/modelinfo/914crayford.htm)

And by a few others, but only onesie-twosie.

Sorry about the momentary dyslexia earlier; it seems to have gotten straightened out.
