Here's how the '71 has ended up, though it may be going to be better home soon:

This one now belongs to Jim Philpot in middle TN. It's a great car, we miss it sometimes
Steel flairs, custom gen-u-ine leather interior, 7 & * x 16" Fuchs, Bilsteins all around, 3.0 SC engine with Webers, factory heat exchangers, and the list goes on and on. Sold it cause I thought I could build another one better, and I have, just not for me!

My 73 converted to 2.7 /6 with CIS and MegaJolt light Jr spark home made programmable spark system. Flares are all metal, front tires are 7.5"x17, rears are 9x17. It has yet to run as I have not had time to set the fuel system. Gauges are all custom done by me; painted needles, zeroed odo to match rebuilt motor and tranny, blue lights in the gauges, aluminum bezels, powere windows, custom rear view mirrow with built in map lights, aluminum knobs, and redone upholstery. There is more, but I am blanking at the moment.

Here's my 72 Bahia Red as it looked when I bought it in April of 2004,
coming out of storage in 2005, on its way to Shelby's shop for a make-over, how it looks now, resting for the winter months at Shelby's and finally how it should look next spring wearing a new coat of Jaguar Racing Green paint.
Added the final picture of the car as it sits in my driveway.
My first car ever was a '74 2.0.
I had 914-6 #9140432624, and sold it to a friend (with first refusal rights if he sells it.)
I met Randy and Glenn on 9/14/2000 in Sebastopol at a Roadglue lunch.
I had 7 914s at my house in Sonoma County at one point. You can just make 4 of them out in this satellite picture on google earth. A fifth is under the trees and two more are in the building. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&om=1&z=18&ll=38.432249,-122.854668&spn=0.003168,0.00331&t=h
I was addicted, but moving to Colorado helped me kick the habit... at least temporarily.
I wanted to go racing really bad, and I didn't have time to build up a 914 and I also didn't really want to wreck one either. So I found it's stunt double, a spec miata.
But now I'm back in California, and the disease has resurfaced. I bought two 914s in February. One is a 1970 Tangeriner #979 (first 1000, woohoo!) and the second is a 1974 2.0 Marathon Blue, bought from the original owner with 333,000 miles! You can see more pics of these two and my past cars at http://www.project914.com

Oh great Evil One, I bow to your....something. Good to hear from you! As you know, I am a "cantakerous PITA", but I LIKE your 914. Don't like the wheels or the rocker covers, but it's all a matter of taste - and I have more.
Seriously - cool car! Some of us might be interested in how you "pooched" out the rear quarters. Hints, insight, etc?
More than anything - really happy to have you with us! You, although eccentric, are needed here.
BTW - you are the one who named me "cantakerous PITA". Thank you, sir. Compliment acknowledged!!!!!

1971 914/6 Original owner, Purchased new Feb. of 1972 as a high school graduation present to myself. Currently at 50,000 miles, trying to keep it stock.
1970 Porsche 914/6 GT purchased a few years ago. Built by Stoddard in the 70's
908 brakes, 100ltr. Tank, GT interior, ect. It strayed a bit by the previous owner to 916 styling, but I'm bringing it back to a true "GT". Oh, BTW I did get FIA papers for the 914/6 GT.

Hi Glenn! Yes, I will be there. This time I’ll be working, supporting a couple of 935’s for the event, hopefully I will still have time to check out some of the other activities like we did at RennSport 2. Maybe we can do dinner someplace not quite so noisy…
My new mission in life is to have the “GT” ready for Rennsport 4, I know it’s a few years away, but I have a pretty lengthy punch list and a lot of pesky customers that want their cars worked on first!!!

Right now I have a Chevy 305 HO mule. I have everything ready for final assembly sometime before the end of January.
I'm gathering parts to build SBC 302 clone engine. That one should be ready December, 2008 (just about the time gasoline hits $4.00/gallon!).

If you're that worried about fuel prices, get ahold of a very low 3rd gear, then "flip" it (drive gear becomes driven gear) to invert the ratio. That should allow you to run freeway speeds at just over idle, which will give you about as good a fuel economy as you can get...

Well I am very happy to introduce you to my six, #0372. It definitely has a lot of work ahead of it.
I am not exactly sure what is going to happen. It left the factory in May 1971 as gold. I really dislike gold-really the only six color I can not tolerate. I always wanted an ivory white 914-6 and since it has been color changed once, it might just get soda blasted and changed to white. Then again, it looks really good black too......

Here are some of my 75 2.0. I've owned the car for about 10 years. It's primarily been used on weekends and sunny days when it's not 110 degrees. It has about 160k miles original motor and transmission. It's still got the fuel injection which unfortunately has been the cause of nearly every problem I've had with the car. It's been a bit of a stormy relationship the last few years but as it sits right now it is running better than it ever has. Recently had some you guessed it, fuel injection issues resolved.
