I sold my first 914, a '74.20, to a chap in San Jose who used it for parts and chopped it up.

Just before that my friend Ryan and I bought a running, rust free '74 2.0 from Pick and Pull in Windsor CA, drove it home without plates, and then spend the next two days chopping it up. God, I was young and dumb!!!!! I thought it was worthless because it didn't have roll bars or the appearance package. He wanted the brakes for his Bug (he did use them too), and I wanted the other bits as spares.

I got a roller '75 or '76 from Brad a few years ago. He had already stripped it, and I don't even remember why I grabbed it. I chopped that up of course, though it was in pretty poor condition so I don't feel too bad.

Dug scrapped a bunch! I remember him getting a free roller (I think he just wanted the VIN) from Mark D in Napa. The car was a rolling shell that had been welded on and cut up just about everywhere. I don't remember what year it was. It got hauled off to the wreckers. As did his wrecked yellow '73 and a junked out '70 he got on a whim from a gal in the East Bay. It was a rotten, moldy rust bucket! So that's three right there as well. His rolling blue chassis should be OK. It's down in San Diego. The "race car" (just a roller with a roll cage) was given away, as was a nice red '74 2.0 that needed a motor. It was fixed by the next owner, given a motor and was sold. His six was also sold and is still being driven.

Another friend of mine bought a '74 for a guy in San Diego, used it for a while and then got rear ended on 101 here in Santa Rosa. He was OK, but the car was finished big time.

So that's seven 914s I can think of here that are no longer. I don't have VINs, sorry.
