I saw this today on ebay. The ad hinted that the body of the car was as raced by Gregg. Obviously not so, given the wide body rear quarters. Wow, for only $200k!
Too bad it was "maintained" during its lifespan by Holbert P/A. Definitely a black mark in my book (from personal experience).
Wonder what this 914's been doing for the last 20 years?
Picture from 1978, Note that the SCCA then allowed rear flared fenders for C Production

DEC,
Did you look at the car?
Hi Glenn,
no I didn't see the car in person. The car is located in the US and I had
only via email contact with the seller.

Did Gregg actually race the car? When and where?
I guess we never got a VIN?

According to the seller there is a document from Josef Hoppen describing the car as the ex-Gregg Ginther Roadster; it was apparently sold to Harmstad by Porsche.
Gregg raced in several national SCCA events as well as the 1970 ARRC where he finished 8th. The VIN is in the thread title.

Duh!
Though I don't recall knowing it when I started the thread, perhaps an administrator added it later.
