Genn,
I've lost track of many of my early PCA buds, but one who stands out very vividy in my memory was a fellow from your area - Bob White (and "my wife" Wilma.
I first met Bob at the Pocono Parade. There had been some judging miscues in his class, so to keep the top of engine clean for a re-judge he'd put a factory shop towel (or 2) on top of the motor. When they announced that no re-judging was necessary & that he'd won his class, and to bring the car forward for trophy, he'd forgotten the towels. Fired up his green 911 & sucked the towels right into the cooling housing! Embarassed, he/we pushed the car forward for his trophy.
Bob worked for a year at Weissach (he was/is an engineer) at the tire testing facility, as a guest engineer for Porsche. It was in 1977 or '78, and the Factory gave him an unpainted galvanized 911 to drive for the year. After his stint in the car, there was no corrosion (& it was 2 years old).
Do you know of Bob and/or Wilma? He was a zone rep for a while & hounded Parades, but I lost track of them?

Although I don't know them personally I think Bob is still an engineering Professor at the University of Illinois in Champaign IL.
I also recall an article about some wind tunnel tests that Bob did on the 914.
He tested the coefficient of drag with targa on/off , headlights up/down, windows up/down and every combination.

Happy to hear he's still with us! He'd have to be in his late 70's minimum. Extremely interesting guy
Thanks for the info.
