Methodology
Start with a list of Porsche dealers from 1970, then add/update the list of 1971 dealers. Then add dates from advertisements that where found from dealer in later years. Dealer codes where taken from the dealer stamps in “Maintenance Record” booklets (see attachments). This is not the absolute, end all list of dealers; it is merely a starting point.

Now comes the part where you can help, if you have your “Maintenance Record” booklet please look and see if you can add dealers or codes to the database. Please post your findings in this thread and they will be added to the database.

Presumably, when ownership of the franchise changed, the 403-*** code changed as well. The Classic-to-Cronins name/number may have changed prior to my 16 July 1973 service stamp, but I do not know exactly when. Pat Garvey's '72 914 was delivered from the same location in '72 and I'm sure he'll post what his dealer stamps say.

I'll provide the list of dealer numbers later. The reason I did not incude them was I wanted to check why the numbers on the stamps, and the dealer numbers I was familiar with were different. It appears that the first part of the number is the distributor number,so for Germany we have six distributors 111, 112, 113, 114, 115 and 116. Others include Luxembourg 216, Malta 217, Norway 218, Austria 219, Portugal 220 and Canada way up at 999. Then we have the dealer number with the distributor getting 000. What I found interesting is that in Canada, the numbers we use are 3000 series. So the dealer numbers listed in the book are always preceded by a 3.

I'll echo Paul here, with one addition.
Cronin's P/A became Moser P/A in 1976, with dealer code 403-018. Address changed to Beechmont Avenue in Cincinnati. This dealership was subsequently sold (I recall in the mid-80's) to Beechmont P/A and moved about 5 miles away. Don't know its code, but it remains the major Porsche dealer in Cincinnati.

I'm going to incur the wrath of Garvey, but some corrections are necessary here.

The Classic Porsche +Audi code was 403 A08
The Cronins Porsche + Audi code was 403 A17 Cronins P+A moved to Northland Blvd (in north-central Cincinnati) and changed ownership and became Northland Porsche + Audi in 1976.

Moser Porsche + Audi opened in 1975 on Beechmont Ave in eastern Cincinnati.
