interesting ... for all thouse don't speak german
the ad says that this should be the exhaust system that was on the Sonauto #40 GT at Le Mans 1970
not just an exhaust system like the one from the Sonauto GT, but the system that was mounted on that specific car at the Le Mans race ...

Why does he not offer it directly to the owner of the car first then?

Or he doesn't know how to contact the owner.

Why does he not offer it directly to the owner of the car first then?
I know Mike Hagen has that exhaust on his car as well as a spare muffler that he uses as wall art

I guess that is why Mike is not too interested. It should not be too hard to duplicate either.

It should not be too hard to duplicate either.
You would think so...but, surprisingly enough I have not seen anyone do reproductions of the headers???
Anyone have an opinion on the headers?
Someone in Europe has recently been offering very similar mufflers for sale on eBay

Very close...but, not quite the same as in the above mentioned ad. This I posted is a 911R reproduction as the pipes on the GT version are closer together.

I just got the info from my german friend, that this should really be the original exhaust system, that was mounted on the #40 car during the 1970 LeMans race.
this car is still very original
When he was loading the car back on the truck I took these pictures
These are the GT header off of my car

This is the same seller of the NEU original 906 flywheel...must have some interesting parts around...OR there are quality reproductions being made at a fair price.

Looks like another set of GT headers with a sport muffler

Heck, my factory original 914-6 GT headers have some European racing history but who cares! Can I prove it? Probably not!

But I can tell you that I'm very fortunate to actually own a factory pair.
Anyone with a 914-6 GT factory original muffler for sale? ;)

Hello to you all!
I just can't keep up with all these posts and information, been too busy with work lately keeping me away from all the fun and playing with the Porsche stuff! However, I did managed to take some time and discovered this part, take a look at what I found last week...

...and that's cheap!!!! If you had to reproduced them, it will cost you more and they'll always be 'reproductions', not original parts. ;)
and I have passed on a bunch of them in the past 10 years that were priced at $500:eek:
I decided not to pass on these!
NOS 914/6 GT or 911R headers
