I finally got my car on the rotissiere today. It was a real pain PITA. The design uses a square tube to connect the 2 stands. You have to have everything lined up and slide them together. It doesn't work so well. I have a hoise to use. I did one at a time starting with the rear. When I went to do the front, I pushed by hand only and couldn't get to move much. I didn't realize but I was pushing the other stand off the car. There was only 2" left before it was to fall. Took 2 hours to get it together. There has to be a better design. I think I want to cut out the middle tube and make new ones out near the wheels. Any thoughts?

I sure did.

I removed the bumper and all suspension components. The master cylinder and the doors. I also needed to repair the rotissiere. I had cut it apart when I got it so it would fit in the car. Added new wheels also. I will probably need to repair it again. The one end received a lot of hammering at some time. The tubes are no longer as strong and are begining to buckle. I have taken the load off with the hoist so it is safe.

You mentioned doors while you were here. I need 2. The bottoms are terrible. Call me sometime and lets figure something out.

I have finally made some progress on this car. The rust is worse than expected. I did get this car as a project so I am not complaining. I need to replace the inner and outer firewall. The floor pans could have been saved but I am replacing them. I also am repalcing all the tubes in the tunnel. The rear firewall was a bigger project than I first imagined. Brian Frenz in WI gave me a part from an old car. I planned to use it but decided on using new metal from AA. I thought that there was too much work to use the old metal.

The pan is still not welded in. I am repairing the upper wheelhouse on both sides and the back firewall. I will weld in the rear pan after that. I have since painted the inside of the tunnel and the firewall. It looks much better! I will post pictures after I get these repairs done.

The project is really coming along, are those the stainless steel fuel lines?
It looks like you were able to find a replacement clutch tube?

Hi Glenn.

The fuel lines are from Chris Foley. They fit real nice. I replaced all the lines in the tunnel. Replacing the rear outer firewall is a big job because of all the lines. I don't know how I could it if it wasn't for the fact that I have the tunnel exposed. I got the tubing from McMaster Carr. They carry all the metric sizes. I bent them myself. This is a little tricky. You need to make no sharp bends or the cable ends will not go through the lines. I also had to readjust them so the shifter and the heater lever would not touch. I have it all painted using Rust Bullet. This is a gray rust paint. Not as much preparation is needed compared to POR 15. Later this week, I hope to have the enging shelf, Upper wheelhouse and small Hell Hole repaired. I will post pictures then. So far so good!
