Would you put tires on your car that were a different color than black?

call me conservative, but I won't do so ever
well, there's a small exception - white wall tires on a car where they fit originally

Maybe. Then there could be a way to detect if your alignment was off or if there was some other problem.
I'd try out Signal Orange too.
I wonder if you could get transparent. That would be cool!

I'm not so certain I would. It would be a little like putting led's in the heels of your shoes that blink when you walk.

Funny answer...
Yes, but only if available in "chrome".
Serious answer...
For style? No. If there was a performance reason? Maybe. Depends upon how ugly they were.

I had a set of winter tires on my 914 that had blue treads. That is as fancy, color-wise, as I'd like to get.

Mountainbike tires have had colors for years now. Grey looks really good IMHO. I'd try grey on a 914, but a color would be too rice.
Motorcycles too. A couple years ago I was wondering why we hadn't seen much in the way of colored car tires yet. The ricers should be all over it.

I like my tires classic black, though I was very partial to Goodyear Bluestreaks in the 60's - on a MoPar, not a Porsche. Interesting though.
Radical new tire design by Michelin. The next generation of tires.
These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires.
This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology:
a. no more air valves
b. no more air compressors at gas stations
c. no more repair kits
