The big question is -- why did I wait so long?? :)

That looks great!! A quick question?? How is the stability side-to-side?? I've wondered about something similiar - but was wondering how steady it would be..? Did you re-inforce the base arms, or do they even need to be??
In any case - I'm jealous!!!
Best to you!

Awesome. I have been looking at those also. I have the same question as John D, how is the side to side motion? Any chance of a in person look? I'll buy lunch. :)

Nice lift! Looks like you get a lot of height. Does it have provision for a pin to lock it it the extended position? If there is any side to side issues, I guess a bar could be added to the front to make it wider. Was that price the stock price or was it a special price?

Looks nice and doesn't take up too much room. Good score Tim!

Mark this past summer I was in Indy and stopped in at Greg Smith equipment, they didn't have any of these lifts in their showroom, in fact they just sold the floor model the day before. The price was the $1050 then plus shipping or you coul dpick it up there.
You can check out their stuff at http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Default.asp?Redirected=Y
I bought a tire machine and wheel balancer (for my business) from this vendor and am happy with both products. They were reasonably priced and are of good quality.

Thanks for the link Garold. That is a nice lift. Answered my question about the stop. Price is now 1195.00. This looks like it includes the pump.

Hi Tim,
I've been considering a sissors lift too. Have you done an engine drop/install yet? I'm wondering if this lift will work ok for that, or if the legs are in the way with the lift 'down'.??
Any info would be appreciated!
Happy Holidays!

Found some schematic info (http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/documents/Pro6MRLiftInstallation.pdf). Looks like the engine bay area could be clear with the lift down...

Sorry guys I was gone for Christmas. At this point I have not done any work on the car while it is up on the lift but it feels real solid (no side to side movement). With the lift positioned with the major bar in the front when you have the car raised only the two arms that go to the floor are in the back -- looks like changing an engine or transmission will be a snap.
The only negative I can tell you about the lift is you will need friends to move it -- it is real heavy. I guess that is a good thing and is probably why it is so stable. The power unit is attached to the lift with a high pressure hose and a cable to release the safety stop. The unit came with everything needed except the hydraulic oil, I got two gallons at the local Farm and Fleet store.
